Danbury, Connecticut, a suburban city located in Northern Fairfield County, in the southwestern part of the state, offers a blend of urban amenities and a suburban vibe just over the upstate New York border. Great for New York commuters, approximately 30 miles from White Plains, NY by way of I-684 South and I-84 West and approximately
70 miles (1.5 hours) to Midtown Manhattan in New York City.

Danbury is known as the "Hat City" due to its prominence in the hat-making industry during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Its home to Western Connecticut State University (WCSU), a public university, as well as, public and private schools. The predominate industries include healthcare, retail, manufacturing and professional sectors such as Danbury Hospital, Praxair and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Danbury is home to a number of public parks, as well as Ives Concert Park located on the Western Connecticut State University campus that hosts many concerts and cultural events. Rogers park is one of the largest parks, offering extensive facilities for the entire family to enjoy.

CANDLEWOOD TOWN PARK
Candlewood Town Park offers 11 acres and 200 yards of beach-front. Enjoy the serenity and ambience of lake life, dig your toes in the sand, relax and enjoy a day alone or with family with benches and picnic tables for seaing, outdoor shower, playgrounds, restrooms and a seprate entrance for the boating dock. The park offers a seasonal usage schedule for a fee (season passes and daily pass) and is located at 36 Hayestown Road

DANBURY SCHOOLS
The Danbury Public School District offers 13 Elementary Schools, 3 Middle Schools, 1 High School along with early childhood and alternative education options.

A new school is currently in the building phase, called the Danbury Career Academy, designed to serve 1,400 middle and high school students, expected to open Fall 2024. Its focus will be on information technology and cyber security, medicine, economics, professional and public service, art and engineering and communications and design and is located on the city's west side.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Danbury is host to numerous community events throughout the year. The CityCenter Danbury Green is a very popular spot, that hosts the family-friendly Summer Concert Series a series of free concerts featuring a variety of musical genres, including jazz, rock, country and classical. CityCenter is also the spot for the summer Farmers' Market, held weekly, the Taste of Greater Danbury, an annual food and music festival showcasing local restaurants, food trucks and live entertainment known for drawing large crowds for good food and performances. Your bound to see a plethora of events happening in spring and summer, including car shows, cultural festivals, free health initiatives, Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations and more!

The expansive Danbury Fair Mall is growing and offers a wide range of shops and recreational activities, including the newly added Target and for entertainment, visit Round1, a bowling and Arcade center offering arcade games, billiards, pizza, burgers and more, as well as Golf Lounge 18, a state-of-the-art facility equipped with full bar multiple HDTVs to watch the big game and also take advantage of a private lesson or just play 18 holes with friends.
